Caroline Thomas is an expert in professional resilience and sustainable careers. She draws on 18 years’ experience in human resources and talent development, gained in international and multicultural environments. As a partner and trainer at Zest for Work since 2020, she supports organisations in developing sustainable performance by building resilience and adaptability.

Caroline’s holistic and extensive experience is deep-rooted in her HR background where she spent years of safeguarding both people and processes related to change management, organisational and talent development, performance management, and learning within several corporate environments. Her focus on cultivating successful organizations, coupled with her genuine care for, and belief in people and their abilities, has led to her initiating transformational programs that create spaces for growth and meaningful change. 

Caroline genuinely cares for people – which is one of Zest’s core values.  One of her career drivers is to have an impact on people,  which led her to join Zest as Partner in 2020. As Management Partner, she works as an impactful and trustful partner for organisations and their employees focusing on developing the environment, capabilities and mindset required to adapt and keep pace with the pace of transformation while staying energised and employable. Based in Basel, Switzerland she is the primary contact for Swiss and French client organisations.

Caroline is passionate about understanding people’s behaviours. Why they behave like they do, how they learn and grow. Her deep interest in behavioural science and her experience in L&D helped her to shape impactful Resilience programs for leaders and professionals, specifically on Emotional and Mental resilience. Caroline’s natural, authentic style helps her to easily connect and build trust with professionals at all levels build. Her open facilitation style provide space to step back, experiment and develop practical skills that stand the test of time.

Caroline is a Certified co-active Coach, having completed her coaching education with the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), one of the largest experiential coaching training organisations in the world. As a certified practitioner of the evidence-based Career Fitness Profiler, she coaches professionals to shape a drive sustainable career journeys. 

Beyond her work, Caroline enjoys nature and mountains. Being outdoors, hiking and skiing is what makes her feel most alive! She’s a proud and busy mum of 3 children and loves to get creative with them in whatever form: drawing, baking, writing. She practices yoga and contemporary dance. She also has a hunger for discovering and experiencing the world, especially new cities, art exhibitions and live shows.

Invited as guest speaker at ImpactHUB in Basel for the Female Founders co-working morning, Caroline highlighted the most critical resource we have as human beings: our energy. In this short session she introduced the concept of energy management, the dimensions of energy and the importance of balancing stress and recovery.

Self-awareness and initial strategies for everyday resilience

Caroline run several interactive an experiential “lunch and learn” sessions for Recordati in Basel. One of them was designed to raise awareness on inner stress and energy signals. Participants were inspired to experiment with self-regulating strategies that they could start to apply in daily life.

ASAGE Career Event

Caroline was invited to lead one of the ASAGE Career Event as expert speaker. She lead a discussion around the challenges of today’s career paths and what they entail in terms of motivation, energy and employability. She introduced an evidence-based model about key attitudes needed to build a sustainable career in a dynamic job market.
